Version 1.2 adds 2 settings, TTY/PC and TTY/MAC. Both are 8-bit settings,
yet use the TTY emulation method.
Version 1.2 also gives you a choice between 9 and 12 points.
The font has also been updated a bit. It can now be used with Second
Sight or with CounterPoint. This is the SAME font that Scott Watson
put on GEnie, but with some improvements I made. This font is Public
Domain.
To use EE 1.2, you MUST replace the old pcansi font. The ID numbers are
different.
As soon as White Knight 11.07 was released, I put this package together to make it simple to use the pc character set with White Knight. This is commonly known as ANSI emulation.
Other programs claim to support ANSI, such as Microphone II, but what they DON'T tell you that you can't change the font. So, you're stuck being able to display the pretty colors, but the wrong characters.
There are a bunch of steps to switch between ANSI, regular TTY, and VT100 (or
VT102). So all this procedure will do is switch between five most common settings. This is great for novice users.

Instructions:
<1> Use Font/DA Mover to install the pcansi fonts into your system
file. (You can put it into a suitcase file if you wish, but font
ID conflicts may cause problems for White Knight trying to
access the font. The system is the best place, but try a suitcase
if you want.)
<2> To make it easy on yourself, make a macro key that will launch the
EE.Proc file.
or
Make EE.Proc a key equivalent as described in the White Knight
manual. Whatever makes you happy!
<3> You're done! Just choose EE any time when you want to change the
emulation. It's a snap.
Notes:
-1- If you try it and it does not recognize the pcansi font, try
rebooting White Knight. It may need to load the font resources again.
If it still doesn't work, you may have a font ID conflict. You might
try getting around this by installing the pcansi fonts directly into
White Knight, although make sure you have a backup first.
(In my own case, i use Suitcase and haven't had any problems.)
-2- If you still have no luck, you can leave me a message on my BBS,
Main Street USA - (508) 832-7725. I am a remote sysop, so I wont
be there to chat with you. On Fidonet: 322/575.1
Internet: macman@wpi.wpi.edu or macman@wpi.BITNET
-3- You may decide to modify the procedure and recompile it. That's fine
with me. (That's why i gave you the procedure file!) However, please
don't distribute a modified version with the Easy Emulation name,
and give me credit for whatever Easy Emulation contributes.
